First impressions on Atlyss

My first thoughts upon playinga Atlyss weren't very profound or poetic. More of a... 'oh, this is a cool game. I could see myself playing this often'. It's been driven into the dirt already how similar the graphics are to the n64 and I'd be remiss if I didn't also bring attention to it. But it also reminds me of early Ps1 and Ps2 games. I played Ps2 for a chunk of my teen years because it was the only console I had(this was before it broke down on me and I couldn't figure out how to fix it) before the nintendo switch lite I bought. I was playing Atlyss with a friend that had already played, so he was the reason I got through most of the game. Thank you SoSu <3 you're awesome sauce.
One of the first... bugs? I ran into was during the character customization screen. The very bottom slider, which lets you change horn color, isn't calibrated correctly or something of the kind, because the colorpicking was entirely innacurate. This threw me off a little, but given it's an early access game, I didn't pay too much attention to it.
The world itself is small, but not in a suffocating way. Exploration lends a lot to that, of course; there's plenty of areas for you to explore in-game to keep you from getting bored. I initially planned to hop off of the game at 10 pm, but ended up getting so engrossed in the game I played until around 11:30 pm, and now I'm writing this at 1 am. What I'm saying here is that the game is fun. Really, really fun. I honestly didn't want to hop off, I wanted to keep playing, but by the time 12 am rolled around we started encountering bugs and called it a day.
I can't comment much on the combat given I'm a 'tank through everything' kind of person, but I found it fun. I kept wanting to level up and max out my stats, call that the 'collector' mindset.
Atlyss is a fun game, especially for only 10$. If you're looking for something new to play with a lot of charcter customization, or you want to experience an MMO again, I reccomend you play Atlyss. It's incredibly fun and I love the designs and visual choices and I'm sure the rest of you will as well.
Thank you for reading this incredibly short little ramble about a fun game I played earlier. I promise better things are to come, such as my Crane Wives analysis. I'm not going to promise a date on that or anything, though. Take care.
